By air:- 

The nearest airport from Coorg is Mangalore if you are traveling from Bangalore. The Mangalore airport is convenient due to its frequent direct connectivity with Bangalore. Tourists can even go to Mysore airport but there are only a few flights that ply between Bangalore and Coorg. The flight from Bangalore to Mangalore will take only one hour to reach the destination. 

There are ample numbers of taxis outside the Mangalore airport that will help you to cover the 140 km journey to reach Coorg. It will take three hours to reach Coorg from Mangalore. The journey will be filled with scenic countryside beauty. 

By bus:-

There are about 8 buses that ply between Bangalore and Coorg. There are various options of buses for travelers as well such as KSRTC, Poornima Tours, Ashwini tours and travels, Many Tourists, and SeaBird Tourists.

All these buses are available in different categories like  Volvo AC Semi Sleeper, Volvo Non AC Sleeper, Mercedes AC, and Non AC Sleeper. Many buses vacate at night between 10 pm – 12 am and reach in the morning between 4 am – 7 am.

The bus journey is quite comfortable and even affordable for travelers. 

Drive from Bangalore to Coorg

It takes about a 6-hour drive to reach Coorg from Bangalore. There are even several routes to choose from. 

The first route covers a distance of 250 km and follows beautiful locations and hamlets such as Bidadi, leading to the exquisite village of Ramanagara to Channapatna following the beautiful route which leads to Hunsur then to Periyapatna and lastly Karadigodu which leads to Coorg.

The second route also offers remarkable natural beauty and covers a distance of about 273 km. The route follows from Bangalore to Yeshwanthpur leading to Nelamangala followed by the beautiful location of Holenarasipura then to Bylakuppe leading to Kushalnagar and Sunti, from where travelers head to their beautiful destination of Coorg.

By train:-

Railway station does not exist in Mysore, either to Mangalore from Bangalore. One can reach there by Mysore because it is considered to be the nearest railway station.

Stations near to Coorg :

There are only two stations that are near to Coorg and they are – Mysore and Mangalore. One can take either of these if they are low on pocket. One can easily reach there in approximately 3 or 4 hours, which is not bad and gain a crazy experience to Coorg.

And then, one can take either bus or taxi from the station to avoid inconvenience and continue the trip of your dream.

Buses are quite affordable but taxis are a bit expensive. So, if you are comfortable, take bus always to save some money.

Bangalore is 117 kilo metres away from Coorg and Mysore is ninety nine kilo metres away from Coorg. It is your call to choose the station.

Travelling via train is not that costly. It is quite affordable. You can reach there with three hundred rupees in non air conditioned train. Maximum amount it takes is 2000 for the ones who travel in air conditioned train. It is upto you and your comfort totally to choose any one.
