INTRODUCTION:

Valley Of Flowers is an easy 6 day trek that begins at Rishikesh and ends at Joshimath. It is a beautiful trek and one of the most sought-after by adventure and travel enthusiasts. It is located in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district. It is also a World Heritage Site. Reputable botanists, mountaineers have recognized it for its diverse and beautiful flora. It is well-known for its unique alpine flowers, as well as a variety of fauna and flora. Every year, thousands of people visit the area to see its rich biodiversity and endangered species. To the east of Valley of flowers, one can see Nanda Devi Park’s magnificent mountains.

Itinerary

The Valley of Flowers Trek is a 5–6 day trek that starts in Haridwar and ends in Valley of Flowers.

Day 1

Day 1 of the valley-of-flowers trek begins in Haridwar. Haridwar is known as the city of purity and spirituality. The journey begins at the village of Auli. The 315km long journey can be completed by car in between 10-12 hours. The majority of the journey takes place alongside the Alaknanda river. Beautiful views of the emerald waters and natural verdure are part of the journey. By the evening, one reaches Govind ghat.

Day 2

Day 2 will take you from Auli towards ghangaria. The trek starts with 7 km of trekking towards Gangharia village. From there, you will walk through stunning snow-clad mountains to reach Kag Bhusandi lake.

Day 3

The most anticipated trek day 3 is when you will finally reach your destination. You will start the day by making a determined head for the valley of flowers. As soon as you enter the valley, the sweet scent and fresh air will fill your body. The valley is full of exotic vegetation, beautiful flowers, and sweet smells. The young river makes a gurgling noise and you can hear the birds singing. It is a beautiful setting.

Day 4

The spot is located along the Pashupati River, just before the valley of flowers. It is located 6 km from the valley, and is a lovely spot to spend some time. You can return to the valley by taking the Pashupati river.

Day 5

Day 5 is the return to Sri Hemkund Sahib. It is a peaceful river, and it forms a beautiful landscape among the greenery. It is a lake at high elevation, 13500 feet above sea level. You’ll reach Gangharia by the end of your day.

Day 6

You’ll travel from Gamharia to the Pulna Trek, and then drive to Badrinath to reach Auli in the evening.

Day 7

You will reach Haridwar in the evening on the final day. This is the end of a beautiful journey.

Flora, fauna, and birds

The fauna and flora of the valley of flowers are well-known. The valley is home to around 498 species of flowering plants. Blue himalayan poppy and maple are the most popular flowers here. These flowers add charm and scent to the landscape. There are many wildlife species in the area, including red giant squirrel himalayan deer, brown beer and himalayan-mondal yellow nape woodpecker.
