WDMA has been meeting with elected officials and their staff in Washington, DC to discuss how they can make an impact on the trade policy that affects the window and door industry. For instance, WDMA has been advocating for building code adoption that will support the advancement of high-performance windows and doors in buildings.
Another WDMA initiative is its annual Building Safety Month campaign in May. This campaign is designed to bring awareness to the need for strong building codes and the importance of working with the Code Council and its partners to promote and advance safe and healthy buildings.
Some of the organizations that are helping WDMA in this effort include the National Glass Association, the Code Council and the International Code Council. These groups will continue to work with WDMA and their members on the development of effective policy that will help them navigate the challenges they face.
